Young Angelo Mazzone – Mike to his family – began his musical journey as a student at Paige Elementary School in Schenectady, N.Y., performing with the Schenectady County Community College Children’s Chorus under the direction of Dianne Warner. Not long after, he made his debut with the Schenectady Light Opera. He was 10.newmazzone.jpg

As his voice matured, Mike shifted to brass instruments and studied French Horn at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. While at Crane, he had the opportunity to study abroad in Siena, Italy, where he played in an orchestra for opera singers. But the renowned tenor Stefano Algiers heard him sing and encouraged him to leave the French horn behind and pursue a career in voice.

After graduation, Mike became a music educator at West Sand Lake Elementary School, where he shared his passion for music, opera, and performance with young students. At the same time,  his career as a performer took off, with opportunities to sing with the Sarasota Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, and the Caramoor Opera Festival. He studied with world-famous tenor Marcello Giordani in Catania, Italy, at the prestigious Teatro Massimo Bellini.

He had his professional debut at Carnegie Hall with the Remarkable Theater Company in Opera Shorts and has performed in concerts and operas across Europe and the United States. In addition to his work as a singer, he has also ventured into acting, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and in the latest season of Law & Order: Organized Crime.

“My passion lies in sharing my gifts and inspiring future generations of artists and audiences,” Mike said. “My journey has been one of transformation, discovery, and constant growth, and I am excited to continue my work as both a performer and educator.”
