Jon Cohen joined Behan Communications in 2012 to help lead the firm’s expansion. He has an extensive background in journalism, government and public affairs. He has led a number of strategic communications firms to success and played a leading role in the turnaround of two technology companies.
Formerly a publisher of Commentary Magazine and an advisor to New York City Mayor Ed Koch, Jon also has served as president of The Weiser Group, a global public relations firm, and of Cohen Strategic LLC, an international consulting group. Jon’s clients have included Fortune 500 corporations, leading philanthropists and break-through technology companies.
Jon began his career as an editor and reporter for The Dow Jones Radio Network, The Wall Street Journal Report and The Sheridan Broadcasting Network, and he has been a regularly featured commentator on Bloomberg News Radio. He has played leading roles in creating a number of non-profit public policy initiatives, including The Freedom House Municipal Fellows Program (Prague and New York City) and United Nations Watch (Geneva). Jon’s reviews and essays have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Commentary, The Weekly Standard, The New York Sun, The Baltimore Sun, The Forward, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Houston Chronicle. He holds a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. from Kenyon College.
